Email forwarding allows you to have multiple email personalities. That is, you can be a one person company and appear as many. By using email forwarding, you can setup aliases for your people. Here are some of the common email addresses you will find in use for a business:
  • sales@company.com
  • info@company.com
  • webmaster@company.com
Now, if you setup POP email accounts for each of employee in your company, then you can set each of the above aliases to forward to the proper individual. Using our examples from the previous page, you might assign the email forwarding aliases such that mail to:
  • sales@company.com will be forwarded to bill@company.com
  • info@company.com will be forwarded to bill@company.com
  • webmaster@company.com will be forwarded to suzy@company.com
In the case of a one-person company, all of the aliases would be set to forward to you.

This same forwarding can be set to forward to any email account you have, even America Online or CompuServe. Anywhere you can receive email.
